Let me try this whole blog thing and see what happens.

Well, here goes.  I am LT for all of you out there. A HUGE thank you for taking the time to read this and check out my new website.

Over the last four years, I wrote the Danni to Pieces series. I guess you could say it was an accidental book. I have always loved getting lost in a good story, however, when I started writing it was simply because I got bored with television and books. So many of them are predictable or the standard happy ending. I crave the how’s and why’s of a story. I don’t want a new story with the same ending that has been done hundreds of times. This is why I just sat down and started writing a story that I would want to see on television. I wanted it to be messy, complicated, believable, yet unpredictable. I think I accomplished that with the complexity in Danni.

As I mentioned earlier, writing was a happy accident I soon discovered I LOVE! It has been a tremendous learning experience for me. The best thing about it (that I completely embrace) is the fact it is simply doing what works for me. Since then I have read so many articles about the writing process, what makes a good writer, and so on. I eagerly read some, but soon realized just because it worked for another writer doesn’t mean it will work for me. I stopped looking at those articles and just went with what works for me. Learning how to do that was tough as hell. I ended up writing and writing until I had 2,500 pages in a word document, with no title, and worse, no direction on where to go from there. So naturally being new to writing, I thought, I need to publish it. I can’t tell you how wrong that decision would have been for me. Thankfully, I took a little time and just stepped back from it and started to educate myself on what happens next. I was in utter shock at how much goes into a book from the first word written, to the hitting the I am ready to publish my book button.

So I am going a blog about it. I am going to start at the beginning and explain my experiences in the writing world. It is simply not just sit and write a book, and it will appear on bookshelves around the world. (I learned the hard way.) Writing the book is the fun part. I love just to let my mind drift into a story as I type and listen to the rock music blaring in my ears. Then the work begins, and I have to admit I like this part almost as much as the writing. I wonder if it’s because I’m doing it my way? The way that works for me, or because none it feels like actual work.

Again, thank you for reading this and visiting my website. I hope you read the books and enjoy them as much as I do. I love to discuss the books and characters. I encourage anyone to contact me if they want to ask questions or discuss them more. Advice is also accepted (can’t guarantee I will use it). Don’t expect much advice from me because I can only tell you what works for me. I will gladly tell you about that more in future blogs.
