Hello. I want to thank all of you that came out to my launch and book signing. It was a huge success, and I discovered I have the BEST readers on the planet! You all made my day with the support and love you shared for the story. I am anxious for all of you to read the next book.

I have thought for a while about how to get more reviews, so my books gain steam and get more attention. Through this writing journey, I have had to educate myself on many things, and reviews are one thing that has perplexed me. Obviously, I want great reviews, but I want honest reviews because people genuinely wanted to read my books or because they just like to read. What bothers me is that I can get a ton of reviews…if I pay a review service for it. This just feels wrong in every way! First, how honest are they going to be if they are being paid to read the books? I just don’t agree with paying someone to tell me I am doing a good or bad job. They are getting money for the review so do they even bother to read it? Or do they read the back cover and a couple of pages to come up with their review? Second, in my opinion, this is like having the answers to a test before taking it and then being happy you passed. Well of course you passed. You had the answers!

So this is I have decided to do. I will not pay for such a ridiculous service. I will continue to encourage my readers to leave reviews for actual books or movies they have seen or a product they have purchased and leave a review because it’s their honest opinion. Of course, I want my books to be successfully, but I never went into writing because I thought I would make a ton of money. I write because I like to tell an intriguing story that I would want to read. I can’t tell you how much I love to get lost in my head and shut the outside world off for a little bit. I think when writers focus more on that than the money they come up with some pretty amazing stories or even songs. So, my advice is let your work speak for itself. DON’T PAY FOR IT! Let others tell you what they think (good or bad). I love to hear my readers say what they like or dislike about the DTP series. It helps me grow as a writer and helps me stay true to my goal of just writing a good story people may or may not read. I only write for me. If readers enjoy the books, well, that’s a bonus! THE BEST BONUS!
