DTP Blog 10 Book 4 Deceptive Contest & Teaser

Hello, fantastic people! It’s been a while since I blogged and for that, I apologize for slacking on my duties. Life happens, and I am approaching the New Year with the whole New Year – New Me approach. With that, I am trying to run three days a week with two rounds of Pilates as well. It is challenging trying to find all the time to fit in all my projects, but I am trying. For those of you that have never tried Pilates, I totally recommend it!

I am currently rewriting the ending of book 4, Deceptive, and changing some of it. It’s hard to focus on it when I am trying to finish another book as well. I promise I will try my best to have it out at the latest, April. It matters to me that I stay true to the characters while they change and grow, so sometimes that means writing ten pages and then deleting it because that is not at all something they would do or how it should end. Let me explain my logic and see if you agree with me. I had a favorite show I watched all the time. I loved the story, the characters, the mystery, and how you could never guess what was coming next, but, the final episode totally ruined it for me. I was so disappointed, and it still bothers me to this day that I feel the writer of the show took an easy out and just killed them all. I felt like he wanted to move on to other projects and didn’t put the same enthusiasm into writing that episode as he did the first. With that being noted, I am trying very hard not to be that lazy writer and just writing an ending. I want it to be believable and take you off guard. I want readers to want more of the story and characters. Not just an ending where I couldn’t go on if I wanted to add to the series in some way.

I am overjoyed with the responses from readers as they try to guess who did it. So far, I haven’t a correct guess, and I love that I might surprise all of you. But, I can’t give it away either so don’t be surprised if I don’t answer that message.

I am currently running a contest and hope to have some thoughts added. I am going to create a few products to give away that have some of your favorite quotes or moments from the books. If I use one of yours, you could win it! Just send me your favorite quotes or moments no matter how dirty or ridiculous they might be and you just might see them on something. My favorite is, of course, Daniel, and how he always refers to Danni as Dirty girl. Send me your favorite!

Hopefully, in the next couple weeks, I just might post a few pages of book 4, Deceptive, as a teaser. If I can get at least ten responses to this blog and a few new likes on Facebook or Instagram, I will post it sooner. Book 4 is from dual points of view, so if you’re curious to hear someone else’s perspective encourage others to post as well.

Thank you  and happy reading!!
